   Igor Engraver: Engraving

...What an amazing program. When I got the program off my MacAddict Disc, I thought "Hmmm, another notation program that says that it is the best." So I accepted the challenge and might I say as a user of Finale since 1996, you have a new convert. I have only just scratched the surface of this amazing program and everything that I can think to want to do, you have already included.
And what is up with the humanization of this product. A program that knows unplayable chords, and arpeggiates automatically!!! This alone is worth every penny!!!
The music looks fabulous, rivaling Finale in every way. And global editing is something just to die for as an engraver when I change a part and forget to update the score.
You are doing a great job and I will never.... ever.... buy another engraving program or upgrade again as long as you keep releasing this AMAZING product. If you ever need any help (which it is obvious that you dont), I am a willing subject. Thank you!!! Can't wait for 1.3!!!

...Yes, you heard it correctly: I HATE IGOR ENGRAVER!
I hate it because soon I may not be able to charge my usual sky-high fees to copy and engrave music.
When Finale was the "acme" of engraving programs, it was only my obsessive-compulsive, highly-experienced, super-tweaked control of that software that allowed my scores to look so much better than the ones most others put out that I could charge lots of money for my services.
However, with Igor, even *untweaked* scores look good enough to beat most Finale output -- heck, even my best Finale work (representing many, many gruelling and focused hours) looks only marginally better than what a few hours in Igor has produced.
I'm considering *not* telling any of my colleagues about Igor, just to
save my profit margins! (Not really, but you get my point...)
        Yours in admiring frustration,
        K.

...Engraver is absolutely wonderful! I have never used a notation program that was this well thought out.
Finale always frustrated me because you spent as much time making the piece look appealing as you did composing it. This is not so with Engraver. You point, click, compose, and it does the rest. The results look absolutely professional and stunning.

...First of all congratulations with your engraver. It does meet the expectations. The default output is far better than any other application, even after tweaking. I'm telling this both as a musician and as a software engineer in the printing business.

...Igor is an amazing program for the arrangment of vocal scores and boasts a feature set that caused me to get rid of my old copy of Encore. I'm definitely looking forward to version 2.0 and beyond.

...The manuscripts are beautiful.

...The music looks very professional immediately.

...I have to say the output looks very nice, not computerized at all.
Kudos for a great program.

...I have recently downloaded the Igor notation software and am very impressed
by it's score writing.

...Thank you Bryan. I did figure out how to use that font to create the notes for metronome markings. These parts I'm cranking out look so good! I am getting a lot of compliments. I am an Igor addict alright ;-)

...Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am just so incredibly tired of using other notation programs that assume that I either have an enormouse studio setup o no prior knowlegde of music whatsoever. I am also tired of programs that assume that all of my music will be played on modern orchestral instruments. I'm an early music student, and a majority of my instruments are things like the Rebec, Vielle, Recorders, Lute, and all of these are represented in Igor. The ability of the application to use notation specific to early music is yet another greatly appreciated feature, and I know that most of my EM colleagues will be thoroughly impressed by the app. ... Actually, besides the inclusion of a specific Early Music instrument group with more choices, there's really nothing I can think of to add. Anyway, thank you for your contribution to the remarkably dry field of notation programs.

...I just downloaded Igor Engraver's 30-day trial and I LOVE the ease of use, and its layout.

...Had a meeting yesterday with one of the publishers I work for ... and I thought I would pass on some of their comments to the list.
- Slurs - they love em
- Basic spacing again was popular
- They loved the ability to hide anything on the page but still see that there is an object there
- Breaking hairpins and slurs over system breaks - definately a huge plus point over Sibelius and a bit better than Finale.

...This is such a fabulous program - I really like it. I have very quickly become quite comfortable with it, and even though I have not finished exploring the possibilities, when I think of using other notation editors now, I no longer want to do all the unnecessary work they require. You may quote me.

....The things I have seen until now really have impressed me. Never ever have I put together music as quickly as with Igor.
