MMA, MIDI Manufacturers' Association

The MMA is the original source for information on MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) technology, where companies work together to create the standards upon which MIDI compatibility is built. MMA publications include the Official MIDI Specification (which includes General MIDI, Standard MIDI Files, mobile MIDI, and more), as well as the Downloadable Sounds Specifications for customized and predictable reproduction of MIDI files.

As an MMA member, NoteHeads gets to vote for or against proposals regarding the issues mentioned above. Being the only notation software company in the MMA, NoteHeads feels a responsibility to protect the interests of the many musicians who are using notation software in their work. For those of you who have always wondered - MMA has provided NoteHeads with a dedicated MIDI SysEx message ID: 00H-20H-48H.

The College Music Society / The Musician's Mall

The College Music Society is a consortium of college, conservatory, university and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music. Its mission is to promote music teaching and learning, musical creativity and expression, research and dialogue, and diversity and interdisciplinary interaction.

Since its founding in 1958, The College Music Society has offered a means of communication between the music business and industry and music faculty and students in higher education. For example, the Society has provided opportunity for interaction through exhibit space at its annual conferences, advertising space in its publications, and direct mail opportunities via mailing labels from its extensive databases. Today there are new opportunities for continuous, dynamic exchanges between the music industry and an interested music faculty and student population. To this end The Musician's Mall is dedicated.
