The Menu Bar
Igor Engraver's menu bar is deliberately short. Fact is that the last item on the menu bar above only appears during Music Entry.

The File menu contains menu items to open, save and create new pieces, but also to import and export MIDI files. Plugins are also loaded from this menu.

• The Edit Menu contains commands to Cut, Paste and Copy music and other objects. All music editing functionality can be found here. MIDI has its own items. The Preferences, both the global preferences which apply to newly created pieces, and each piece's private preferences are edited from this menu.

• The Layouts menu contains commands that manipulate individual layouts: modifying their preference settings, adding, removing and renumbering pages, renaming parts and scores, etc.

• The Input menu only appears during music entry and contains menu items to control the various input parameters, such as whether courtesy accidentals should take all instrument staves into account or not, whether new measures can be created or not, whether Igor Engraver automatically should insert dynamics and articulation, and so forth.
