Accidentals
The Accidentals pane selects the overall method
used to select accidentals: Traditional, Vienna II, Modernist or Salzedo.
Traditional notation of accidentals is taken further
in Igor than in any other program. Igor actively analyses the music and
suggests intelligent courtesy accidentals, even taking other staves into
account. You have full control over this process, of course. |
|
But
Igor also notates accidentals using the conventions of the Second
Vienna School or of the Post-War modernists: if you write or publish
music of this kind, Igor will spare you the labour of manually having
to adjust and replace accidentals to conform with modern notation,
it's built in right from the start. We've even included Salzedo
notation. And since Igor is designed to be a universal tool, the
box "Notes tied over barlines repeat their accidental" allows you
to notate music according to French custom. Igor will insert a reminder
accidental automatically.
