As a composer I have a great need of a music notation program which offers the highest standards of excellency in the areas of speed, flexibility and user-friendliness.

Those commercially available notation programs that claim to be able to notate all kinds of music are hopelessly obsolete in terms of their structure; they are also slow and remarkably cumbersome to use from a creative standpoint. On the other hand, the more light-weight programs lack many fundamental capabilities and notational features.

A program of a sufficiently high professional level has until now simply not existed. In this vacuum Igor™ comes as a god-send. No program of which I am aware comes close to Igor's capabilities, probably due to Peter Bengtson's unique dual competence as a programmer and as a composer. Igor™ can be used within the entire spectrum of music, from popular music and arranging, to the most complex level of art music. It supports all conventional notational conventions, in addition, it allows the users to define their own symbols and expressions with the greatest of ease. Many people around the world are waiting for the first commercial release of Igor™. They will not have waited in vain.
