Basics
Igor Engraver is full of unique features. For instance, it knows the ranges and preferred clefs of over 250 different instruments. Igor Engraver even knows the names of instruments and their abbreviations in six different languages. You want instrument names in Finnish? No problem.

Igor Engraver also has a unique playback feature. This means that, among other things, string harmonics are always played correctly. So are crescendo wedges, sforzando-piano markings, tremolos, trills, etc. Glissandos sound they way they are meant to sound, regardless of extent and instrument, as do quarter-tones and even sixth-tones.

Igor Engraver even knows the difference between a kettledrum and a flute when it comes to playing a trill. Igor Engraver will analyse your music as it is being played and make intelligent assumptions about what MIDI patch to use for each passage, dynamic level, articulation type and instrument. This means that Igor Engraver can be used as a true musical sketch board. It also means that it is very easy to produce a rehearsal tape, for instance when working with dance or multi-media. For maximum creativity, Igor Engraver allows you to work very closely to the way you do with pen and paper. Igor Engraver is designed to allow you to notate everything at one and the same time: pitches, articulation, dynamics, hairpins, lyrics, etc. You won't be forced to make unnecessary multiple passes over the score.

When it comes to producing parts, Igor Engraver knows about the different paper formats to use for scores and parts. Igor Engraver will insert all headers and titles automatically for you, saving many hours of valuable time.

When you change your score, all parts are automatically updated and reformatted. One piece, one file, Igor Engraver lets you keep the components of a composition together in one place. Igor Engraver keeps track of all page and bar numbers and rehearsal marks for you, saving many hours of your time.
