Auto-patching	The Igor Engraver unique auto-patching technology makes installing new updates – or ‘patches’ – a piece of cake. With ordinary software, the chances are you’ll have to:
Ordinary patch downloading	1. start your web browser 2. find the company’s web site 3. make your way to their download area 4. find out whether there are patches available 5. identify patches suitable for your setup 6. download the (often large) patches, perhaps using a registration system 7. unpack them 8. locate the right folder to put them in 9. restart your program or computer to trigger the patches 10. get rid of all the unpacked versions – that is if the new patches seem to be working properly (it’s not always easy to tell) 11. spend the next few hours getting your head back together
Igor patch downloading	With Igor Engraver, all it takes is one simple step. Just select ‘Check for patches’ in Igor Engraver's menu. Igor Engraver will automatically connect to noteheads.com and retrieve the latest patches. In seconds, the patches you need – most of them feature enhancements, while some may also contain bug fixes – are fetched and installed in your Igor Engraver ‘Patches’ subfolder. Best of all, you don’t even have to quit Igor Engraver to trigger the patches; they will enhance the program immediately. Because the patches don’t need installation information, they are very small – usually smaller than a typical email, – making downloading a very quick and easy process. Once a week, Igor Engraver will remind you to check for new patches. If you’re too busy, or have other things – like composing – on your mind, simply ignore the reminder – until next time.
